Fields of Imagination collections are rooted in place, material and time. Each body of work begins with gathering soil from a specific landscape and allowing the material itself to generate the image through a chromatography process.
Victoria Holmes is a Devon-based artist and founder of Fields of Imagination, an earth-based art practice exploring soil, landscape and ecological systems.
Glastonbury Collection
The Glastonbury Collection was created from soil gathered at Glastonbury Tor, Chalice Well and the White Well on the full moon of 13 April 2025.
Through the chromatography process the soil itself generated the images, revealing hidden mineral and biological patterns within the landscape.
